Intelligence headlight (headlamp) applications:

The development of intelligent technology of car headlights makes the MEMS application of car lights particularly important. For example, the adaptive high beam (ADB) can recognize the direction and distance of the vehicle, adjust the area of light exposure accordingly, avoid dazzling other vehicle drivers, and ensure driving safety.


The new smart headlight technology reflects a laser beam onto a fluorescent body through a MEMS mirror, and the resulting laser scan pattern is then projected onto the road surface through a secondary optical element. Compared to current automotive LED headlight technology, the scanning MEMS mirror laser system is able to produce a continuous beam of light, without the "jump" that occurs when a single LED is turned on or off, as with LED headlights. Another very important advantage is the ability to re-adjust the luminous flux as needed, increasing the average utilization of the light source and reducing the power consumption of the system.
